Examples of My Freehand Drawing
Architectural, still life, and landscape drawings that I’ve drawn both during class and on my own time. My samples are from spending my free time drawing what I see and find interesting. I have had no drawing classes or workshops inside or outside of school. It’s an interest that has evolved with me.

This was one of my first architectural drawings of the Denver Art Museum that I did during my architecture class. I was happy at the time with how it turned out but wanted to revise it at some point.

I came back to the Denver Art Museum drawing to improve it. I went back out to the museum on my own time and redrew it, this time focusing on including depth and shadows in the building.

This still life drawing was done on my own time. We’ve had this house plant in our home for a long time now and I really appreciate the uniqueness of it so I decided that I wanted to draw it. I paid special attention to the leaves and how they draped the plant stand.

I drew this on the way to the mountains. The quietness of the forest pulled me in and I wanted to emphasize that against the loud highway road.

I drew this when I was home during school break and just wanted to draw something. I made it a challenge that I would draw the first thing that I saw and when I opened my eyes I saw this pen sitting on my desk so I started drawing it.

I drew this when I got home after a recent trip back home to Chicago with my family. I really enjoyed drawing this piece as it reminds me so much of the memories I have from my grade school years my family and I lived in Chicago.

I enjoyed the last time I did the “draw the first thing you see” game I made up and I wanted to do it again. This time I landed on a pencil sharpener on my desk.

I’ve had this CD on my desk for as long as I can remember now. It’s from my uncle’s band when they recorded some covers back in the 90s. I love listening to this CD so I drew it. I wanted to give it more of a grungy and cartoonish look to it and I think I was able to voice that pretty well in this piece.
